Mystery Dinner
Theatre - RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
|
|

NoTechTheatre.com
currently offers five sparking,
farcical, audience participation mystery dinner theatre plays.
These are NOT loose inprov
scenerios! Our plays are fully scripted plays that
perform in and among the audience members; these plays
invite carefully controlled audience participation.
The successful
production of our plays requires a disciplined and carefully
executed rehearsal period, just like the successful production
of other plays. |

Our Mystery
Dinner Theatre Plays are FULLY SCRIPTED |

Consistency equals
success! Unlike many other murder mysteries, all
dialogue, action, and audience involvement in our plays is very
carefully planned and practiced.
Two hours of comedic
improvisation with audience members of varying ages and
interests can be, at best, a hit and miss performance....
particularly with young or inexperienced performers.

high energy, consistently entertaining,

Our Murder Mysteries go

NoTechTheatre.com
murder mysteries easily adapt to any
kind of performance space. No specific stage or
performance area is needed..... in fact.... our plays are most
effective when performed in and among the audience members.
Constant and close contact between the performers and audience
members keep the action and dialogue spontaneous and connected.
The plays never stop and wait for audience
members to return to their seats after the performers have
"messed with 'em." |

|
Where can our
Murder Mysteries be best performed? |
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
|
Almost anywhere! School
cafeterias for students or parents; private dining rooms at
local restaurants; clubhouses at retirement communities;
fellowship halls at churches; meeting rooms at local hotels. |

Lights?
Scenery? Costumes? Props? Absolutely NOT! |
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
|
Our plays are
written to go anywhere and succeed beautifully without scenery,
special costumes, or special lighting. Props for these
shows are minimal; the microphones are your call. How big
is the room? How effectively do your performers vocally project? |
|

|
|
|
| |
|
So What is the
"Rating" on these plays? |
|
| |
|
G -
Great for family audiences |
|
| |
|
Profanity? -
Absolutely not! |
|
| |
|
Sex? -
Well, we do tease the audience
members a bit! |
|
| |
|
Violence? -
Well, it is a murder mystery.... do we see
the deed? No! |

What if I don't
want to serve a meal? Will the plays still work? |
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
|
With food;
without food, full meal; maybe only dessert... the choice is
yours. The plays are wonderfully engaging and entertaining
with or without food. When ordering
the scripts, however, please specify whether or not your
production will include a meal. Slight alterations in the
words and actions tailor the production to your special
occasion. |

Cast it, rehearse it, and perform it! You
don't need a set; just pull the costumes from your closets;
you don't even need a venue. Have the interested
organization arrange for their own catered meal. Charge the
organization a flat fee for the performance. The
organization sells their own tickets to their own members at
their own price. You get your fee; they keep the profit!
The cast just shows up and performs the show. No tech
costs, facilities rentals, advertising costs! Maximum
revenues with minimum investment. Everyone makes money....plus
everyone banks a wonderful memorable evening of theatre! |

"Our
dinner theatre was a HUGE success! We sold out for our
first weekend and oversold for the second weekend (having to
limit numbers of large groups.) The audience loved the
show, and some of them really got into it with the questions and
trying to determine the murderer. The audience really
responded to the interaction with the cast as guests of the
wedding. I believe everyone involved had a wonderful time.
My cast, stage manager, and I all loved the show, we all had a
blast! We've been receiving calls asking for the next
dinner theatre production!"
